30+ Years. Countless Kitchens. Stories That Stick With You.

From military competitions to backstage breakfasts with rock stars — these are the moments that shaped who I am as a chef, a partner, and a problem-solver.

The Military Made Me a Chef — and a Leader

While serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, I was selected to compete in the Philip A. Connelly Food Service Competition, where our unit finished 2nd.

Later, while serving with the 1st Infantry Division in Germany, I received a Silver Medal in the US Army Europe Food Service Competition for my entry:
“Meals from the Hills” — a tribute to the West Virginia Coal Miner.

As Sous Chef at 7 Canyons Golf Community, I had the chance to cook for:

🇺🇸 Vice President Dan Quayle

🎶 Country Music Singer Glen Campbell

⚾ Major League Basebale Pitcher Roger Clemens

During my time as a private chef, I catered events for:

Jane Seymour’s Open Heart Jewelry Launch

(funny story — I was supposed to meet Jane at the end, but my front tooth popped out right before. I asked my head server to apologize and tell her I’d catch her next time.)

A family in Mexico City hired me to help open their restaurant.

I flew to Mexico City to walk the markets, source ingredients, help them design their layout and build their grand opening menu.

Chef to the Stars — and Their Morning Eggs

As Chef de Cuisine at The Gathering Conference Center (Cliff Castle Casino), I had the unique experience of cooking both event meals and private breakfasts for major performers like:

🎸 Eddie Money
🎤 Ratt
🎶 Dokken
🎧 Great White
🥁 L.A. Guns
💪 Jillian Michaels (during filming of The Biggest Loser on the Reservation)

Shaking Hands, Stirring Pots

As Chef de Cuisine at Sedona Rouge, I got to lead culinary service for a private event at Senator John McCain’s Ranch, where I personally met:

🗳️ Senator John McCain

👑 The King of Jordan

🏀 NBA Star Dikembe Mutombo

🇺🇸 Vice President Joe Biden

👩‍⚖️ Senator Hillary Clinton

If you're guessing we weren't allowed to bring cell phones, you'd be right!

I also had the honor of cooking for a Chaîne des Rôtisseurs dinner, hosted by the International Association of Gastronomy — one of the proudest moments of my career.

The Dish That Stole the Show

During the Sedona Film Festival, Actor Paul Sorvino asked me to make him a special shrimp scampi dish during his stay at Sedona Rouge. He loved it so much, he told his daughter Mira Sorvino to ask for Chef Andy and request the same dish the following year.

“Make sure you find Chef Andy,” he told her.

“And ask for the shrimp.”

My husband and I run a small start up business, we had no idea what we were doing and Andy came in and helped us cut our cost immensely. We are so grateful for all of his help and for him going out of his way to help us.

Andy isn’t just a rep — he’s part of our team now. He helped us tighten up our prep process and fix some big pricing gaps. We’ve seen a 14% increase in margin.
